Oct 12 - Mass of Remembrance Details

We are overjoyed to have received more than 500 RSVPs to our Mass of Remembrance for all those recently buried in a Trappist casket or urn. Celebration of the Eucharist as one united body is important to us. To welcome so many loved ones to our celebration of the Eucharist we are erecting a tent in our parking lot that will allow us all to worship together in one space. A number of additional measures will be taken to ensure that all of you, our guests, will have a positive experience of monastic hospitality and our spirit of ministry through Trappist Caskets.

We are erecting an additional tent for the luncheon reception. A number of the monks will attend the reception to greet you and share our experiences of monastic life and Trappist Caskets.

Several of our employees will help facilitate parking for so many vehicles and will shuttle guests between the parking areas and the monastery.

The "Memory Books" recording the names of loved ones buried in Trappist caskets and urns will be displayed at Mass. Afterwards they will be brought into our monastery church where two monks will help guests locate the names of their loved ones in these prayer books.

Tours of Trappist Caskets will be conducted following the mass and reception.

Note: The Mass of Remembrance replaces our usual 7:00am celebration of the Eucharist. We will pray Terce at 8:00am (instead of 9:15am) and will then perform our morning manual labor from 8:15am to 10:15am. The Mass will also take the place of the midday Office of Sext.

Moses used to pitch a tent outside the camp at some distance. It was called the tent of meeting. Anyone who wished to consult the LORD would go to the tent of meeting outside the camp. (Exodus 33:7)
