Sept 27 - Fan-tastic

Today workers began erecting scaffolding in our church for use to install fans at the peak of the ceiling. The fans address the problem of warm moist air collecting in the peak of the ceiling, condensing on the boards, and dripping to the floor below. The fans are intended to circulate the warm moist air away from the ceiling.

Unfortunately, the scaffolding is directly in the middle of the church and restricts our guests' viewing and accessibility to the church choir for reception of the Eucharist and of a blessing at the end of Compline. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with the temporary solutions that we will institute to facilitate your participation in our Liturgy despite this inconvenience.

The scaffolding will be taken down for the Trappist Caskets Mass of Remembrance.

Then the LORD said: Go out and stand on the mountain before the LORD; the LORD will pass by. There was a strong and violent wind rending the mountains and crushing rocks before the LORD—but the LORD was not in the wind; after the wind, an earthquake—but the LORD was not in the earthquake; after the earthquake, fire—but the LORD was not in the fire; after the fire, a light silent sound. When he heard this, Elijah hid his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. -- 1 Kings 19:11-13a
