Trappist Caskets Introduces Urn Campaign
The first ever internet campaign will be introduced on September 15 to increase public awareness of the finely crafted wooden urns offered by the monks at Trappist Caskets. Reports are that the year 2018 saw interments in urns equal the number of interments in caskets for the first time. Americans trending toward cremation has been a development funeral providers have been tracking for years. At Trappist Caskets, we are averaging sales of about 20 urns per week, and these have been rising steadily lately. In 2016, the Catholic church modified a longstanding prohibition of cremation, stating: “The Church raises no doctrinal objections to this practice, since cremation of the deceased’s body does not affect his or her soul, nor does it prevent God, in his omnipotence, from raising up the deceased body to new life. Thus cremation in and of itself, objective negates neither the Christian doctrine of the soul’s immortality nor that of the resurrection of the body.” Grieving families report a variety of motivations for choosing cremation rather than burial in a casket. Expense may be one consideration. Concern for the environment is another. The monks are pleased to offer these families a variety of urn designs in oak, walnut, and cherry which are characterized the same beautiful simplicity of our caskets. We also provide cremation urns for children and even tiny cherry “premie” urns which are a lovely witness to our belief that the unborn are human beings and persons before God whose passing is grieved by their families.
