Thursday in the Eleventh Week of Ordinary Time

[Scripture Readings: 2 Cor 11:1-11; Mt 6:7-15]

Dying without fear Distressed parents were in a hospital room where their five-year-old son was dying.  The boy, feeling that he wasn’t going to recpver, asked, “Am I going to die?” His father replied, “Are you afraid to die?” The boy looked at his parents with love and said, “Not if God is like you!” This is how Jesus wants us to think of God as our Father in heaven who loves and cares for us.

This is also how Jesus wants us to act. A couple  of teenagers found a wallet filled with cash and credit cards. One said to the other, “Let’s keep it, because God won’t hurt us.” But the other replied, “That’s why we shouldn’t keep it, Living with lovefor even if God won’t hurt us, we would hurt Him by keeping what doesn’t belong to us.”

Awareness with love of our Father in heaven is the way to pray and to live each day.
