Wednesday, Nineteenth Week of Ordinary Time
[Scripture Readings: Ez 9:1-7, 10:18-22; Mt 18:15-20 ]
St. Bernard writes that Jesus holds the middle place, it belongs to him. In the Trinity Jesus is between the Father and the Holy Spirit. Also in the Sign of the Cross. When two or three disciples are gathered in his name, Jesus is in their midst. Even on Calvary, Jesus is in the center between two thieves. Where is the middle place between our thoughts and the work of our hands? Is it not the heart? That is the place where Jesus belongs. Give Jesus his place, give him your heart.
